Rasky Partners Names Matthew McNally Senior Vice President

Veteran Democratic Operative Joins Firm’s Washington, DC Office

BOSTON (March 27, 2023) – Rasky Partners, one of the top independent public relations and public affairs firms in the nation, today announced that Matthew McNally has joined the firm as a Senior Vice President in the firm’s Washington, DC office. As the most recent addition to the firm’s government relations practice, McNally comes to Rasky directly from a central role in one of the hardest-fought congressional midterm elections in decades. He has held positions at the highest levels of Democratic politics, having served as a political and communications strategist on high-profile campaigns and having served members of both the House and Senate leadership.

McNally most recently served as Chief of Staff for former Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney, where he ran the Congressman’s caucus election to become DCCC chairman, continuing to serve as his chief during his tenure as chair.

“Over the past 3 and a half years Matt has served as a trusted advisor to me and critical leader in my office,” said former Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. “No matter the task or the hurdles placed in front of him he provided effective leadership and guidance to our team. He has helped me navigate critical issues from the response to COVID-19 to my work on the Agriculture, Transportation and Intelligence committees and is respected in both Washington and New York as an operative and policy professional.”

“Matt is one of those rare practitioners who began as a talented operative and has grown to become a trusted advisor to many power players in both DC and New York,” said Rasky Partners Principal Justine Griffin. “And he is a rare breed who has deep relationships – friendships –on both sides of the aisle. We are fortunate to be able to tap into those relationships, as well as his insights, for our clients.”

Prior to his work in the House, McNally was the Director of Federal Affairs for the City of New York, representing the City in Congress and in front of the administration.  In that role, he successfully developed public affairs and lobbying campaigns to protect and increase the almost $9 billion dollars New York City receives directly from the federal government.

Matt also spent nearly a decade working on Senate races and in the United States Senate.  He spent three cycles at the DSCC, before joining the Senate Democratic War Room and the DPCC, chaired by Senator Schumer. In 2006 he worked on the McCaskill Senate campaign, and in 2012 he was Deputy Campaign Manager for Tammy’ Baldwin’s historic first Senate race.

“Well-versed and battle-tested in both high-stakes communications and public affairs campaigns, Matt knows how to craft a messaging campaign to precisely reach its decision-makers,” said Rasky Partners Senior Vice President, John Bivona. “His deep understanding of how Congress works and his ability to navigate complex policy issues make him an invaluable resource for our clients.”
