Overview
Legrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures. Its North and Central American division is the largest component of the company worldwide, with over 6,700 employees and product categories that span across residential and non-residential business markets. The company was looking to protect their $200 million market share from significant harm posed by a competitor’s code change proposed to the 2020 version of the National Electrical Code.
Our work
Our team developed a public affairs and advocacy campaign enlisting industry leaders and influencers to advocate for the client during the two-year long code development process. Our strategy was rooted in developing powerful messaging and building outside support from advocacy organizations ensuring that code panel members understood the wide-ranging impact of their decisions. We secured support letters from advocates nationwide for people with disabilities and secured advocates to travel to code panel meetings to testify in person.
Results
Our efforts defeated the proposed code change, preserving Legrand’s market share.
