Overview
Jupiter Power is part of a team working to transform a 100-year-old petroleum tank farm near the Mystic River in Everett. Jupiter’s Trimount Energy Storage Facility, a $500 million-plus battery energy storage system, is proposed for a 20-acre portion of this site. With up to 700 megawatts of capacity, enough to provide power for around 500,000 homes for a few hours, this project will be among the largest such projects in New England.
Our work
Our team implemented an integrated government relations, community relations and communications strategy to secure policy incentives through legislation and key regulatory approvals. We have managed media relations, including a successful announcement of Trimount exclusively with the Boston Globe, which described it as a key piece of clean-energy infrastructure needed by the region. Additionally, we provided on-the-ground community relations support through multiple public meetings, direct mail, and local advertising.
Results
As a result of our efforts, Jupiter Power was approved to proceed with the project. As New England’s grid grows increasingly reliant on solar and wind power, battery storage is a pivotal technology ensuring reliability when the sun is not shining and the wind is not blowing.
