WASHINGTON, DC–Boston-based public affairs firm Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications is merging with Prism Public Affairs, an independent based in Washington, DC.

The new firm will combined RBSC’s reputation management, corporate communications and government relations capabilities with Prism’s experience in public affairs, crisis and litigation communications. It will have expertise in the financial services, energy, healthcare, life sciences, higher education, defense, technology and telecommunications sectors.

Larry Rasky, CEO and chairman of RBSC, says the Prism team–led by principal and co-founder Dale Leibach–will provide “insight into how government, business and the media interact in Washington and beyond,” while president Joe Baerlein emphasized his firm’s undefeated record in initiative and referendum campaigns over a 20 year period, which combined with the bipartisan public affairs expertise of the Prism team “will make the new firm a force in national advocacy campaigns.”

The combined entity will include operations in both Boston and Washington, D.C., with a team of 55 professionals and combined revenue for 2013 of approximately $15 million.

It will ultimately unite under the Rasky Baerlein brand, but during a transition period will operate in Washington, DC, as Rasky Baerlein|Prism and will be managed by the senior team of Leibach, Prism co-founder and managing director Amanda Deaver, and David Tamasi, senior vice president of Rasky Baerlein.
