Rasky Partners, one of the top independent public affairs and public relations firms in the nation, has set up a new codes and regulations consulting service within its public affairs team.

The new offering is headed up by senior VP Jeff Terrey and will use as its foundation Rasky Partners’ 15 years of lobbying, regulatory advocacy and grassroots experience working with clients in the building and fire codes space.

“Thanks to fire codes our homes and businesses are safer than they have ever been. The code adoption process differs in every state. The timing is different, the personalities are different and many times the results are different. It is vitally important to understand the politics surrounding a code adoption process and engaging early. Being written in to a code or excluded from a code can mean the success or failure of a product,” Terrey said during a speech at the 29th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium held this week in Washington., D.C.

Service offerings will include strategic management, message development, regulatory advocacy, lobbying and public affairs.

“Jeff Terrey is the ideal executive to spearhead this new consultant service for us,” said Larry Rasky, CEO and chairman of Rasky Partners. “For over 12 years Jeff has immersed himself in the area of codes and regulations and has far-reaching relationships. He brings the level of client service and expertise our clients deserve and have come to expect.”

The firm, which has 50 staffers between its offices in Boston and D.C., rebranded in early February from Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications after the departure of partners Joe Baerlein and Ann Carter.
