Former Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray is a senior advisor at the firm where she provides strategic counsel to a range of clients, specifically within the public affairs practice. In this role, Therese is responsible for driving business development and growth opportunities at the firm, given her extensive experience and relationships in the Massachusetts region. Additionally, Therese works to foster strategic global initiatives to expand the firm’s growing international relations practice.
Prior to joining Rasky Partners, Former Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray served for over 20 years in the Massachusetts Senate. During her tenure in the Massachusetts Senate and as President, Therese was a leading force in health care reform and cost containment as well as international economic development to highlight Massachusetts’ health care innovation sector. In her capacity as Senate President, Therese led several international economic development trade missions to promote the Commonwealth’s health care industry.
Knowing Massachusetts’ leadership in health care and seeing the importance of international economic development to the economy, Therese founded MassIgnite following her departure from the Massachusetts Senate.
Therese’s success in these international collaboration efforts has afforded her the opportunity to speak about health care and economic development around the world, earning an honorary Doctorate in Health from the University of Plymouth (UK), the medal of St. Olga from the Pskov region of Russia, the Golden Bridges Award, and the 2014 Tip O’Neill Diaspora Award presented to her by Irish President Michael Higgins.
