Overview

Following Antin Infrastructure Partners’ acquisition of an Veolia’s existing district energy business for $1.25 billion they needed a partner to help them role out the new entity, Vicinity Energy, across a number of key regions.

Our Work

We launched a comprehensive media campaign acoss the company’s most vital markets: Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Trenton, Grand Rapids and Kansas City. Throughout the campaign, we successfully placed stories spotlighting the company’s CEO in outlets such as the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer, POWER Magazine, and the Trenton Daily, as well as several trade press outlets.

Results

We have been instrumental to the company’s rebranding campaign as a key partner in major cities’ decarbonization efforts. Today, Vicinity Energy is an energy leader with the nation’s most extensive portfolio of district energy systems, offering innovative carbon-free, renewable thermal energy technology to major institutions across its footprint.

As companies and institutions commit to becoming carbon neutral in their operations, it will be critical to decarbonize at scale using a technology-neutral system like district energy. Vicinity is the first district energy company in the U.S. to commit to fully decarbonizing its operations, offering renewable thermal energy by installing electric boilers, industrial-scale heat pumps, and thermal storage at its central facilities starting in Boston and Cambridge, with other districts to follow.
