In the wake of the financial crisis, the mortgage insurance industry was looking to improve its engagement with Washington policymakers and opinion leaders through a new trade association that represents six of the seven active U.S. mortgage insurance companies.
To quickly establish the new organization as a credible voice on housing policy reform, our team created a robust communications program including a launch event held at the Newseum that featured a panel discussion moderated by leading a Politico reporter. We also helped the organization develop the association’s logo, website and a full suite of collateral materials.
Building on the successful launch, we worked closely with the government relations teams at USMI member companies to develop a sustained media outreach effort aimed at Washington opinion leaders audiences – from Congressional and federal agency staff to think tanks, industry analysts and fellow housing policy organizations.
Through ongoing, strategic communications efforts, USMI is now well-positioned in Washington as a reliable source of policy analysis and insight.
