Melissa advises a range of health care players in New England, crafting and implementing integrated public relations and government relations strategies designed to achieve their business objectives. Her clients include some of the highest profile and highest stakes health care issues in recent history, such as Boston Medical Center, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Steward Health Care System and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Melissa advises clients on internal and external communications planning surrounding complex business issues such as the conversion of Caritas Christi from a Catholic non-profit hospital system to a new for-profit entity, Steward Health Care. She regularly works with C-suite clients to mitigate crisis situations and resolve labor issues.
Prior to joining Rasky Baerlein, Melissa worked in the public affairs division of Stop & Shop Supermarket Company where she crafted press materials and internal communications, planned events and assisted during crisis situations.
She is a member of Boston Women Communicators and the Development Advisory Committee for Project Hope, and a volunteer for St. Mary's Center Dorchester, Massachusetts.
Melissa earned a bachelor's degree in public relations from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications.
