RASKY, PRISM MERGE: Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications and Prism Public Affairs are merging. PI got a sneak peak at the release — but the news was first reported by the Boston Globe. The new firm will combine RBSC’s reputation management, corporate communications and bipartisan government relations capabilities with Prism’s public affairs and crisis and litigation communications services. The combined firm will have senior strategists with experience in financial services, energy, health care, life sciences, higher education, defense, technology and telecommunications. The firm will operate as Rasky Baerlein|Prism during a transition period, before ultimately taking on the name Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications. Prism’s current partners — Dale Leibach, Amanda Deaver and Rex Granum — will join the Rasky Baerlein partnership.

The firm will have offices in both Boston and Washington, D.C., with a team of 55. “Today’s rapidly changing world requires experienced communicators and strategists who understand messaging and know what it takes to achieve results for their clients,” said Larry Rasky, CEO and chairman of RBSC. “From running winning coalitions to managing high-stakes public policy debates, Prism has a longstanding reputation for delivering meaningful results on behalf of its clients. By combining Rasky Baerlein and Prism, we are creating an exceptional team with the experience and insight into how government, business and the media interact in Washington and beyond.” The combined revenue of both firms is approximately $15 million in 2013.
